We can assist with our air freight and time critical services.

Key Dates and What to Expect
The celebrations last for 16 days from Chinese NYE 16 Feb to the Lantern Festival 3 March. Chinese people have 8 days off work from 15 – 23 February.
Widespread shutdowns Offices, banks, factories, shops, and most non-essential services will have a week’s holiday. School holidays are four weeks long and migrant workers abandon their factory and construction jobs for weeks to return home. Ports and transport services continue to operate, but at reduced capacity. Shipments during this time are likely to experience significant delays.
If you need goods delivered before 1st March, shipping before mid-January is the safest bet. You need to book sea freight space by December.
But with 4 weeks to go there is still time to secure air options. Book your your space 2-3 weeks before pick up. Contact us now 01622 237979
How to avoid shipping delays, looking ahead to 2027
- Plan bookings early Arrange shipments at least three to four weeks before mid-January to secure space and reduce the risk of delays. Capacity becomes limited as the holiday approaches.
- Speak with your suppliers well in advance to confirm production schedules and cut off dates. If goods are still being manufactured, factor in the time required to complete production.
- Build up inventory Plan ahead to ensure you hold enough stock to cover the holiday period and any disruption that may follow. Allow extra time for customs clearance and documentation, as these processes can often slow down during the festive period.
- Track shipments and stay informed Maintain regular contact with your logistics providers to receive updates on shipment progress, port congestion and expected transit times.
The key takeaway?
By planning well in advance, you can navigate the challenges of this period and minimise disruption. Start early and you’ll be well-prepared to handle CNY!
