Royal Reception for King’s Award Winners

TPS-Global-Logistics-Managing-Director-Matt-Smith-Buckingham-Palace-Kings-Award2MD Matt Smith had a fantastic reception with HRH King Charles III at Buckingham Palace last night, the event was for The King to meet King’s Award winners.

Matt explains why winning the King’s Award means so much to us all –

‘Our services are dedicated to understanding and meeting our customers requirements. The company is built on very strong team ethics with an honest, hard-working and flexible approach, which I believe gives us an advantage over our competitors.

Being in a service industry we do not have a physical product to sell, so it is extremely important our team have the right attitude and communicate well. Whilst we recognise the need for automation, we ensure we maintain a personal touch.

The King’s Award is the ultimate recognition of the hard work the team at TPS Global have put in over the years and I am very proud of what we have achieved. As in 2015 and 2018 it gives us an opportunity to celebrate and reflect as we are often caught up in the everyday demands.

Our 2021/22 turnover was our biggest ever annual increase, and we are proud to have achieved this in such a difficult year – the ongoing economic global impact of COVID-19 presented challenges with space on sea and air freight and a huge reduction in business from our biggest freight customer when events were cancelled.

We took Brexit as an opportunity to target new business with our clearance services and strategic route planning. We created a Brexit team, training 14 employees to be customs clearance certified and our team worked around the clock to avoid disruption to existing customers. The number of customs clearance documents we are processing has more than doubled in the last 12 months.

Post pandemic we are re-establishing international relations and attracting new customers as part of our international growth strategy, attending trade fairs, visiting agents and customers overseas.’
